As a Christ-centered faith community, we believe the skills of listening, reading, writing, and speaking are important for effective communication in an ever-changing, multicultural, global world. These skills are necessary for on-going learning, employment, relationships, and leisure activities.
As a Christ-centered faith community, we believe that our Mathematics curriculum makes a significant contribution to the development of the whole student by providing the awareness that there are multiple strategies for solving mathematical problems. Math promotes the ability to apply logical and critical thinking in daily life.
As a Christ-centered faith community, we believe that it is beneficial for students to see and experience the works of the Creator in our world through the Arts. The gifts of Music and Art from the past and present nurture the development of each child’s natural and creative talents.
As a Christ-centered faith community, we believe that God is the heart of our lives as understood through the Gospel message. We believe that each child has the right to grow spiritually through experiencing the covenant of our faith. Our curriculum aims to teach reverence for other people and cultures, nature, and the Arts. We believe that in cooperation with parents we should prepare each child for the Sacraments of Penance and Holy Eucharist. As a community we celebrate the Eucharist and unite daily in prayer. As Christians in a Catholic setting we live the Gospel message through service to others on a daily basis and through planned mission activities and projects.
As a Christ-centered faith community, we believe that there is an integral connection between our Social Studies curriculum and the Catholic social teachings of the Church. We strive to foster an awareness and appreciation of our community, country, and of our world. We are called to explore the rights and responsibilities of citizenship and the cultures of people past and present. We embrace a perspective that deepens our understanding and respect for the global community. We show gratitude for the gifts God has given us by helping students develop responsibility and respect for each other and our environment.
As a Christ-centered faith community, we believe in a strong Science curriculum to promote an understanding and appreciation of God’s creation. We encourage the students to view our world through inquiry and observation.
As a Christ-centered faith community, we believe Physical Education is an integral part of the total educational process. All children have the right to physical development and fitness. Development of physical skills will allow children the opportunity to fully participate in life and leisure time activities. We believe in the Christ-centered approach to foster positive participation, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
As a Christ-centered faith community, we believe it is important for students to be exposed to the ever changing world of information and technology. We believe it is important to schedule regular instruction time with the school librarian to promote literacy and critical thinking skills through print and technology sources.
