Emily Chicos

I have worked at Sacred Heart for eight years. My experience at Sacred Heart has included SHARP, kitchen aide, childcare teacher, and now head teacher in the preschool program.

My educational background consist of an Associate of Arts and North American Montessori Center (NAMC) teaching diploma.

The primary focus in my classroom is teaching my students independence. From cutting and glueing, to packing their backpack and getting dressed, to problem solving. You can see the child's excitement, growth and the confidence gained every time he or she is able to do something new on his or her own.

I love working at Sacred Heart because we are able to teach the children about Christianity. It brings me joy to hear them talk about Jesus and share with their friends what they know about Him. I also love that Sacred Heart is a smaller school. The kids get to know one another well and the teachers help one another out when help is needed.
