I began my teaching career 2 years ago at SHS. Before becoming a teacher, I had 9 years of experience with planning activities for children of all ages. I have experience teaching in 4th grade and kindergarten.
I am originally from Waseca where I attended SHS during elementary years, and Waseca High School. I graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in Childhood Development and Methods. I have decided to continue my education at Saint Catherine's University, St. Paul to earn a second bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. I will finish this degree in the spring of 2024.
My philosophy of teaching is that each child is capable of extraordinary things in different ways. My goal is to create an accepting, loving, encouraging environment where they learn not only concepts like math and reading, but also how to experience the love of gaining knowledge.
I grew up in this school, and am now teaching in my old 3rd grade classroom. I made lasting memories here that I am able to now have with my own students every day. I also get to work with amazing people that are supportive, big-hearted, and all around genuine.
